As part of a systematic approach towards Entrepreneurship, Malta Enterprise is working on an Entrepreneurship Strategy. The purpose of this strategy is to create an awareness of the importance of entrepreneurship skills in today’s business environment and to help local potential entrepreneurs’ develop such skills.
Malta Enterprise is promoting entrepreneurship to encourage wage earners to start up their own business and expand the potential entrepreneurial population to include the unemployed and welfare recipients and, hence, contribute to a culture of initiative and self-reliance.

In order to make a significant impact on the promotion of entrepreneurship, it is necessary to influence not only the attitudes of potential entrepreneurs but those of the general public. Business support organisations, educational institutes, corporations and the media need to be drawn together into a network to promote the strategy and deliver assistance to potential and existing entrepreneurs.
